Roti (also known as chapati) is a round flatbread native to the Indian subcontinent made from stoneground wholemeal flour, traditionally known as atta, and water that is combined into a dough.

Roti is the simplest bread that is made every day in Indian households. It is made with only 2 ingredients- atta (the wheat flour) and water. Some people add salt, some add oil but in my house, it was always made with these 2 ingredients only. As I said, it is the simplest form of bread.
